Our Students Love Us!

BUT YOU DON'T HAVE TO TAKE OUR WORD FOR IT

"Nate has been teaching my daughter piano since 2017. My daughter absolutely loves Nate. He has built up her confidence and her love of music. Her self-discipline and focus have increased significantly since starting lessons with Nate. She used to struggle in school but is now a straight-A student. I credit that completely to her music lessons."

Leslie Gillette

"I've been taking weekly lessons with Nate since 2017 and he's always been patient and great at explaining things in a way I can understand. I'm glad to have an instructor that is both talented and thoughtful."

Jackie Gillette

"We highly recommend Mr. Nathan for both in person and virtual piano lessons. All my 3 kids ages from 10 to 15 learn from him. My eldest started to learn piano since she was 6 years old. We started with him in person. When he said he was moving from our area my kids didn't want to switch teachers. He is such a good and patient teacher; keeps the kids class interactive and enjoyable. Even my shy son loves his class. We highly recommend him."

Labora K.

"Nate is an extremely talented musician, encouraging, a friend and is my daughter's piano teacher. We highly suggest him."

Dana Hodge

"Homeschool friends!!! He is classically trained, and has a ton of knowledge. With that said, he's extensively talented beyond that. He's been teaching kids for years. He's a worshipper at heart and loves the Lord. We know his family and children well and love them all!"

Frequently Asked Piano Lesson Questions:

How much are piano lessons?

How much piano lessons are depends on the teacher or school that you are taking lessons at. Piano lessons cost anywhere from $20 to over $100 per half hour and depend upon the level of education, experience, and skill the instructor has. The current rate for a half-hour lesson from Piano Lab in Colorado Springs is $35 per half-hour.

What age to start piano lessons?

What age to start piano lessons mostly depends on how young the teacher is willing to work with. Music can be experienced and introduced to children from birth but most piano teachers require that the child know how to read before taking lessons. Therefore, how old to start piano lessons fluctuates from child to child. Some start as early as 3 and as late as 10. Piano Lab in Colorado Springs will accept as young as preschool-aged children that know how to read.

How to find a piano teacher?

Find a good piano teacher by looking for these 7 things:

  • Demonstration of knowledge in posture, position, and movement around a keyboard
  • Knows how to read and teach the reading of music
  • Has a basic rhythmic grasp
  • Teaches a wide range of styles
  • Sparks a love and interest for the piano in the student
  • Challenges the student to grow and can teach for as long as the student wants to learn (into adulthood)
  • Is patient and kind to the student
